Simple rules for choosing a table for a student

At first glance, choosing a desk for your child is not so difficult. But if you take a closer look and take into account all the features of the growing body of the child, it turns out that you should go to the store well prepared. So how do you choose the right school table?

Settings
To ensure that homework does not harm your child’s posture, you should know the standards for writing desks. Ideally, the table should correspond to the anatomical features of the child and his age. But the average parameters look like this:
- depth of the working surface — 60 cm
- work surface width — 1 m
- depth (for legs) — 45 cm
- width — 50 cm.
The easiest way to make sure the table is set correctly is to check if the child’s elbows are hanging off the tabletop and if the knees are in a 90 degree sitting position. So you will be sure that the posture of the child will not suffer while using such a table.
Functionality
The second component, which plays no less important role than the parameters, is the functionality of the purchase. All the necessary things must be placed in the workplace. To do this, the boxes must be roomy, the equipment is placed on the shelves, the paper — in a special tray. The light is on the right side. The more comfortable the workplace is designed, the more productive the study will be.
If the child wants to give the table personality, you can provide a separate place for things that should be present on his table. All this will allow the student to have everything they need at hand and once again not be distracted.
Construction
When buying, you need to consider the parameters of the room in which it will stand. Various designs allow you to choose a model for almost any conditions:
- The rectangular design is a desk from our childhood. Everyone remembers the countertop, on a solid leg on one side, and a nightstand with two or three drawers on the other. This model is still popular, and is one of the cheapest. In principle, this is a good choice, since it provides the necessary minimum for a student.
- The computer desk is already the solution of the new time. Typically, in such models, space is initially provided for the system unit, mouse, and display. In some cases, there is a paper tray, shelves for disks and space for a printer. A good choice, but such tables usually have a small work surface, so it is not always possible to combine study and work on the computer.
- Therefore, often parents prefer an L-shaped table — this is the most convenient option, if the size of the room allows. So two independent work surfaces are created: for study, and for working on a computer. Many parents choose such a table also because the student is far from the monitor.
- Another popular solution is a transforming table, which can be adjusted in height and inclination of the table top. It costs more than usual, but it does not need to be changed as the child grows up.
